Privacy Policy

Draft — not yet in effect

This Privacy Policy explains how PlayFund ("PlayFund," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when clubs, coaches, and parents use our registration and payment platform.

Who this applies to

PlayFund is used by three types of people: parents/guardians registering a young athlete and paying club dues, club administrators managing rosters and receiving payouts, and team administrators (coaches or staff) managing a single team's roster. This policy covers all three.

Information we collect

From you, the account holder: name, email address, and phone number (phone is optional in most flows). If you register as a club, we also collect your club's name, sport, and city/state.

About your athlete: we collect only what's needed to run a team roster and track payment — first and last name, age or age group, team assignment, and enrollment date. We deliberately do not collect a minor's birthdate, home address, school, or photo, and we do not ask the athlete to create an account or log in themselves. The parent or guardian is always the one interacting with PlayFund.

Payment information: all card, bank account, and Klarna financing details are collected and stored directly by Stripe, our payment processor. PlayFund never receives or stores full card numbers, bank account numbers, or CVV codes.

From clubs, for payouts: business/organization details and banking information needed to receive payouts are collected directly by Stripe as part of their account verification process — PlayFund does not store your bank account number.

How we use this information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use an athlete's information for advertising.

Who we share information with

We don't share athlete or family information with any other club, or with advertisers.

Children's privacy

PlayFund is designed to be used by adults on behalf of a minor — athletes never create their own account, log in, or interact with PlayFund directly. Information about an athlete is provided by their parent or guardian, who remains the account holder and the named party on any payment or financing.

Needs decision: whether this data-collection model requires specific COPPA compliance steps (e.g., verifiable parental consent language) should be confirmed with legal counsel before launch, given the product handles information about children even though it isn't collected directly from them.

How long we keep information

Needs decision: a formal data retention period (e.g., how long athlete and payment records are kept after a season ends or an account is closed) hasn't been set yet. Placeholder principle: we keep information for as long as needed to provide the service and meet financial recordkeeping obligations, and no longer.

Your choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information, or your athlete's information, by emailing hello@playfundai.com. Some information may need to be retained where required by law or for legitimate financial recordkeeping (for example, completed payment records).

Security

All payment data is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor — PlayFund's own systems never touch raw card numbers. Data is encrypted in transit.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify account holders directly.
